A registered 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, SunCoast Blood Centers (SunCoast) has provided a reliable supply of safe blood products and services for the community since 1949. With locations throughout the area plus a fleet of bloodmobiles and “At Home” concierge units, SunCoast
is the exclusive supplier of blood products and services for Southwest Florida hospitals and also partners with Moffitt Cancer Center to helppatients battle cancer. The organization had traditionally performed all marketing duties internally. However, in 2019 they sought the expertise of Grapevine to enhance brand awareness, promote their state-of-the-art facilities, build up their donor base, and communicate urgent calls to action to the community when blood supplies were low.

Results that Moved the Needle

 As the marketing and public relations partner with SunCoast, our team took great pride in engaging their talents to help the organization fulfill their ultimate goal: attracting people throughout our community to make lifesaving blood donations. We provided an extensive range of our services to draw attention to this important local need. We created materials and managed social media and PR pushes to promote special blood drive events, like the Turkey Takeover and Pints 4 Play. We setup digital marketing campaigns and newspaper ads to appear regularly – especially when the blood supply reached critically low levels. We composed and disseminated monthly e-blasts to reach potential donors online. We overhauled their entire website for better functionality, which simplified the donation scheduling tools and refreshed the presentation of vital information. Our team even rolled up their sleeves – literally – by participating in a number of blood drives and directly supporting SunCoast’s important cause.
